A tall growing evergreen shrub with green leaves, marbled grey, edged white. Heigh 3m. Small yellowish flowers in April, followed by red fruits, turning black. Grows in most soils in sun or part shade. AGM
Rhamnus alaternus Variegata
A large, evergreen shrub with green leaves, each pair accompanied by two or three sharp spines. Height 3m. Pale blue, tubular flowers are produced in April followed by deep blue berries in autumn. Needs a sheltered site in sun or part shade avoiding shallow chalk soisl.
